Betrayal Trauma Healing Support Group
What is betrayal trauma?
Betrayal trauma in marriage/a committed relationship occurs when trust is broken by a spouse through infidelity, secrecy, addiction, emotional affairs, or repeated violations of agreed-upon boundaries. Because marriage is meant to be a primary place of safety and attachment, this kind of betrayal can deeply impact the nervous system, sense of stability, self-worth, and ability to trust—both yourself and others. This is not weakness or being “too sensitive.” It is a real trauma response.

You Might Be Feeling…
After marital betrayal, many women experience intense and confusing emotions, including shock, grief, rage, anxiety, numbness, or deep sadness. You may find yourself constantly on edge, replaying details, questioning your reality, or struggling to trust your own intuition. Sleep issues, intrusive thoughts, difficulty concentrating, and feeling disconnected from your body or sense of self are also common. These reactions are not signs that something is wrong with you—they are normal responses to a profound rupture of trust.
